“Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs / And what’s wrong with that? / I’d like to know”

So, I’m sitting here watching The Lost Valentine.  Did you know it was filmed in Atlanta?  I think I vaguely heard it of Betty White being in town a few months ago, but didn’t pay too much attention.  It was only as I was watching it did I notice the scenery looked as if it was a spring or fall day in Georgia.

Every time I watch a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, I cry.  And then I beat myself for crying.   And then I remember there is nothing wrong with watching wholesome, family oriented items.  It think that’s what’s wrong with the world today.  We’re not focused enough on family.  We seek thrills out of the bad and sick that we seem to forget the good out of life.

Call me old fashioned, but I think I’ll continue being sappy.

So, what do you think of the new look?

I finally sat down and gave my site a makeover. I didn’t design this layout. I only tweaked it to match what I wanted. I didn’t like the title used in the header graphic, so I had to edit that. Also, the header lacked a link back to the home page, so I had to code one in. Also, some of the single pages were not formatting correctly, so I had to dig into the code and figure out where things were messing up. Then I decided to make a few other cosmetic changes. I think I have it as I want it.

I’ve kind of fallen out of the habit of web site coding. Usually, I’m trying to break the functionality of a website or making sure my DB changes don’t blow up a website, not coding the website itself.

Scooter and his prey
Scooter and his prey by peachy92

Why is my cat obsessed with licking me, bringing my all his toys, and smothering me at night? I’m not mean to him; I give him plenty of attention.  And yet, I always feel as if he thinks I neglect him. He’s also a hard head that just doesn’t take no for an answer.

Just a thought in passing today he kept licking me as I kept bopping his mouth.

…I don’t want to leave.

Don’t get me wrong.  I like Atlanta.  However, where I live, it’s not the same as Savannah.  Everything in Savannah a lot slower and seems so close.  Atlanta always feels like it’s in a hurry and everything is so spaced out.

I came to Savannah this weekend to just spend some time at home with my father, my brother, and Jessica.  Beth and Ben haven’t been here.  This morning, I went to my father’s mechanic to get an old change.  After the old change, I went to the car wash.  There was a simple feeling to it all that I have yet to find in Atlanta.

Yes, I miss Savannah.

Great Snowstorm of 2011
Great Snowstorm of 2011 by peachy92

A picture of the green space at my apartment complex. No, I don’t think 3.5+ inches of snow in Atlanta, GA is part of their natural habitat. My office was closed today.  The office may be closed tomorrow.  The snow is over, but it is still below freezing, so we have a threat of black ice.

Call us wimps here in Georgia, but we don’t get this as often as up north.  So, yeah, we are encouraged to stay home.  My father, who has been up in Watertown, NY in the dead of winter, told me not to leave today. He knows this is atypical for Georgia.  And good thing, too. At least I didn’t catch my car on fire.

Pictures of this year’s snow around my complex.

"Celebrate good times, come on!"
“Celebrate good times, come on!” by peachy92

Last year, I decided to do a Project 365. I didn’t know if I could complete it or not. I am proud to say I completed it.

I didn’t think I would want to do it again.  I was drained by the time my last photos, posted above, came around.  but, I’m doing it again.  I will not be doing it alone. I have at least 4 other friends attempting to do it.  One has done it before, so if I can complete it for 2011, I should have another person going along for the ride.

Last year, my goal was to have good photos.  I tried so hard that it was no longer fun.  This year, it’s going to be fun.  I don’t care if I have 872 cell phone shots for it.  Last year, I hated to resort to cell phone shots.

Also, I found 2 other photograph projects, Monthly Scavenger Hunt and The Daily Shoot, that can give me an idea to shoot if I need one.  Things should be fun.

And here are some links to three of my friends working on Project365:

My other friend in on Facebook, so I don’t think her album is public.

My only disappointment is having to pass on a camera class taught by a community center in Kennesaw next month.  Sadly, looks like I have to work the annual February/March project for a third year at work.  The project will require some overtime.  Maybe next time.
