“Last Christmas…”

I think my favorite part of this song is “My God I thought you were someone to rely on / Me? I guess I was a shoulder to cry on.”

Thanksgiving Vacation

So far, my Thanksgiving vacation has been a great one, save for one minor hiccup with mortgage note confusion. I accidentally underpaid the mortgage note since July, and it finally ran out of the extra money I had been building up in escrow to cover the underpayment.  So what did the mortgage company do?  Instead of applying the amount I paid for November to the mortgage, they just left the money in limbo and then sent my dad a note saying he’s late on this month’s bill. 🙄  And how much did I under pay by?  $77.  And then the assholes charged me the late fee, too.  Ah, not to worry.  I got it caught up and then I will go back to overpaying the damn bill.  I love overpaying on bills.  I got 2 cars paid off for my dad earlier than expected due to overpaying the bill.

So Wednesday, Nicki and I drove in our own vehicles to Savannah.  Because I had A/C in my car, I took PupPup with me.  Nicki was going to back to Atlanta Thanksgiving night to work the next day.  I had to work, too, but I could work remotely. The dog loves Nicki.  When we would stop, she would freak out if she saw Nicki and then couldn’t see Nicki.  She wanted to be in the car with Nicki, but PupPup settled for riding with me.  Nicki took the dog home the next night.  She came to Savannah because we didn’t want to leave her alone in the apartment alone overnight.  She’s not like a cat.

Thankgiving was nice.  We got our meal at Publix.  Jessica had to work late, and since Nicki wanted to be on the road by 7, we had dinner without her.  I went downtown to tour The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.  The rest of the family did there own things during the day.  Football was on in the background.  I had my mortgage meltdown.  And then dinner was fine.

Friday was spent working.  I had to be on duty just in case of an emergency.  So, I worked in my pajamas, able to walk freely around the house while waiting on work stuff to run in the background.  I like the ability to work remotely if needed.  When the day was over, I logged off the work computer and back onto my own.  Beth, my father, and I ended up having a family dinner that night, too.

Yesterday was spent with Beth in South Carolina.  We drove up to Columbia to see Riverbanks Zoo. Beth got to see her penguins and elephants.  Also, we stayed to see the Lights Before Christmas display.  We saw the one they had 6 years ago with our mother.  We had a good time.  I was kind of nervous being in Columbia because the last time I was there was the last weekend I had with my mother before she died. I wanted to go to the zoo that weekend, but my mother passed on it. Beth told me she felt the same way last week when she was in Columbia for a concert.  All in all, it was good.  Beth was just happy we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner.  She had craving it for a while, and truth be told, so was I.

Sadly, I must return to Atlanta tomorrow.  I have enjoyed my time here in Savannah.  Can’t wait to return for Christmas.  Too bad I just can’t permanently work remotely. 😆

Life had been busy for my this month. Most of it has been from work.  I did go home to Savannah last weekend just to “de-stress.”  Didn’t do much work.  However, after this week, I think things will be better at work.

I can’t wait for the holidays.  I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving this year.

This picture is #318 of 365 photos for Project 365.  Do you know how hard it is to take a photo everyday?  Hopefully the holidays will make things easier.  I don’t think I will do it for 2011.
