Search Results Fun
Posted on July 27th, 2014 @ 1:00 am

Years ago, I would make a list of search results leading to my website and make comments on the weird ones.  For ones that left me speechless, my friends would try to explain away.  And then one day, I stopped.

I’m missing that now.  So, here are a few for you:

history channel – This must be about my rant about the History Channel. If I want history, I tune into the Smithsonian Channel, now.

bloody tampons in toilet – I don’t know which is nastier – when lazy chicks do it or the people searching for photos of such vile act.

things not to do nakedDon’t sit in a slatted chair!

any body want to go to labama:

fayetteville observer delivery jobs routes -Sorry, I am not the best source.

Since my blog hits are so few and rare these days, I don’t have much to go on. Maybe next time.

“And if somebody loves you / Won’t they always love you”
Posted on April 6th, 2014 @ 6:21 pm

Yesterday, I was feeling like there is no such thing as love.

After being disappointed with the How I Met Your Mother finale, I was just feeling down.  Friday night, it was a sucker punch to the belief in love: Richard Marx and Cynthia Rhodes Divorcing After 25 Years of Marriage.

In terms of the Marx-Rhodes marriage,  part of me is not surprised, but it still hurts in a way.  I grew up listening to his music. He’s a king of love songs.  They seemed like an ideal couple.  Through it all, they were an example of love ever after. It’s not my place to speculate as to what caused the split.  They are both adults.  All I can hope is the best for them both.

Yet, when these things give you hope in one day you’ll find that someone, when you see these things in the same week, it hurts.

While I. here, here’s Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. Rabbit :: Bunny
  2. Judged :: Lest you be judged
  3. Produce :: Section
  4. Bank :: Statement
  5. Standard :: Transmission
  6. Mister :: Mister
  7. Tissue :: Paper
  8. Summon :: Jury
  9. Selfishly :: Jerk
  10. Chatting :: It up.

Christ Church Frederica
Christ Church Frederica by peachy92

This weekend, it was Free Entrance Days in the National Parks. Yesterday, I drove to down to St. Simons Island and went to Ft. Frederica. It’s been about 7 years since I was last there. I also toured the near by Christ Church Frederica. A beautiful little church.

On my way home, I had lunch at Pizza Inn. Hadn’t had them in decades! The last time I had them, we lived at Ft. Bragg. When we had extra money, we would go have the dinner buffet there. Sometimes, we’d go with the neighbors to it and have a huge dinner. Good memories of the place. I saw a sign for the one in Brunswick, so I decided to get some. The one in Brunswick was just as busy as I remembered the Fayetteville one to be.

I love traveling with friends, but some times, it’s just as nice to travel alone. However, trivia night alone sucks.

I went to the local Uncle Maddio’s the other night fro trivia. I had no partner. I didn’t win, but I came close. The final question was name the 11 judges that have been on American Idol. For someone that doesn’t watch the show, I knew all the answers. Next time, I will have a team. Maybe we’ll win this time. And this time, I will remember Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

And while I’m blogging, here’s Unconscious Mutterings #577:

  1. Wine :: house

2013 In Review
Posted on December 27th, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?
I bought a house.

2. Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don’t make them because I’m destined to fail with them.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not as far as I know.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no one.

5. What countries did you visit?
Stayed in the US, as usual.

6. What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
That someone special.

7. What dates from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 27, 2013: I closed on my house!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
The house!  Sense a theme here?

9. What was your biggest failure?
I can’t say that I’ve had a failure this year.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not this year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Again, the house!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Signing on a house.  Yes, 2013 has been the Year of the House.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My family did some things this year that got me upset. I also did some things that got to me.

14. Where did most of your money go?
The house, paying bills, keeping the family afloat when my dad was furloughed.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The house.

16. What song will always remind you of 2013?
“Threaten Me With Heaven” by Amy Grant

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? About the same.
older and wiser? Yes
thinner or fatter? About the same.
richer or poorer? Poorer in some ways, but I have a house!

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Traveling. I traveled quite a bit this year, but it wasn’t enough.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Worrying about stuff I have no control over. As I tell my dad, I do worry about it because I am the type that likes to be able to react quickly to the chain reaction.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
Christmas Eve was spent looking at some Christmas lights with my father. We came home to my siblings over at my house and spent time with them. Christmas day was low key ans Christmas night was spent watching Doctor Who.

I saw plenty of good ones this year. Hard to choose just one.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned an age no one wants to admit to because “it’s old.” 😆 I slept some of the day.  I cried.  I put up a Christmas tree in my bedroom.  I had a low key night with my family.

Feeling like an idiot
Posted on October 20th, 2013 @ 11:02 pm

Years ago, my mother had a domain. After she died, I have been keeping it up. Some how, I have forgotten to renew it. And now I feel like an idiot. It was my way of keeping my mother alive. It was the only reason I was keeping my hosting services and keeping up this blog.

And now, it’s just one more remnant of my mother that is gone.

It was that doll site that got me into my photography hobby.  She wanted photos of her dolls.  She had them dressed. She just didn’t know how to use the camera.  I did.  So, I had to take photos of those dolls.  I didn’t want them to be boring.  I posed those dolls.  She loved the results.

As a result of getting a camera, I decided to place a photo gallery on this site using Gallery.  I didn’t have many subjects to photography at that time.

I no longer use Gallery, but Flickr.  And I have taken A LOT of photos.

Last night, I went to the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival.  The headliners this year was Collective Soul:
Collective Soul in concert

My mother didn’t know the band, but she knew the music, especially “December.”  I took one of the inferior cameras I have.  I was quite surprised at how the photos came out, considering how far I was from the stage. I also picked up a T-shirt from the show.

And since I’m blogging, I’ll do Unconscious Mutterings:

  1. dead :: ringer
  2. bangs :: A haircut I had once.
  3. future :: shades
  4. holistic :: medicine
  5. circumstance :: happenstance
  6. past :: failures
  7. fan :: blade
  8. happened :: today
  9. room :: with a view
  10. awful :: lyrics
